Javi Martinez is one among a long list of talented players to come from the famed Basque football academy of Athletic Bilbao. His performance in midfield for his club have drawn interest from all quarters of Europe, and he was instrumental as the club competed in the Europa League and Copa del Rey finals last season. He was awarded the La Liga breakthrough player of the year in 2010, and has amassed 251 games in 6 seasons, aged just 23.
Alvaro Negredo, 26, Sevilla (Spain), Striker, 9 international caps
Coming through the ranks of Real Madrid, Alvaro Negredo moved to Almeria in 2007, for more first team action. And he impressed quickly, netting 13 goals in his first season.
