The wait goes on and on. I have decided to make my life more meaningful than to hang about on the internet waiting for a sudden news flash, stating that Arsenal have signed Cazorla.
And I won’t even be hanging about on the internet for much more time, because supposedly the deal will take longer than expected. There is a complication involving the transfer to be completed. The fee has been agreed between the two clubs, and the player too has agreed to sign for us, but with the present Malaga owners putting up their club for sale, it will still take time from their side, to complete their end of the signatures. Also, there has been news that Cazorla has joined up with the squad and will travel to Germany for the training camp as well as play in the friendly against Cologne.
That’s all the Cazorla end has for now. However, there have been slight developments on the Robin van Persie front. Apparently, Juve are still short of funds, and are looking to offload few players, so they can meet Arsenal’s demands. Brazilian defensive midfielder, Felipe Melo, whom we were linked to few years previously, to replace the departed Gilberto Silva, is on his way out, with Galatasaray looking the most likely to snap him up at £8 million.
I was just having a though about this, and what a good signing Melo would prove to us. An internationally renowned defensive midfielder, with a fair share of experience. Previously, if reports are to be believed Edin Dzeko had been offered by Manchester City as part of the deal for van Persie, but I largely doubt anything similar has been cooked up by Juventus and Melo.
Though there are rumours, that the recent spending spree might just convince the Dutchman to make the U-turn, I barely believe in any of those. He and his agent for surely know he has lost a lot of respect among the Arsenal faithful, after his scathing update for the fans was released. Moreover, it would be just strange to still have him, right?
Individual shots of players were released yesterday, and as Arseblog pointed out, it really does look like van Persie and Bendtner have been photoshopped into Mertesacker’s shirt. Quite a clear and strong indication, ain’t it.
In other news, the deal for striker M’Baye Niang could take atleast 2 weeks more, as there are a total of 3 clubs interested in the striker. 2 are English, so I am pretty sure it is Manchester City or Tottenham who have tabled an offer. Let’s wait and watch how that comes along.
Finally, Benik Afobe joins the list of Jack Wilshere and Ryo Miyaichi as players who have joined Bolton in their developmental years on loan. I would have preferred Afobe to stay on till January, so we could catch more glimpses of him during the Carling Cup. Bolton gaffer Owen Coyle has heartwarmingly thanked Arsene Wenger, while was quick to praise Afobe as a quick and athletic striker.
That’s it for today. A serious advice, don’t waste your weekend waiting for Cazorla to be revealed at the club!
Jai Arsenal 🙂
