Arsenal 1 (Giroud 14) – 0 West Bromwich Albion
Easy peasy! Arsenal secured Champions League qualification for the 1246th consecutive season, with a rather unremarkable win over Pepe Mel’s West Bromwich Albion. Sounds pretty rad. Not the qualification thing. Pepe Mel’s West Bromwich Albion. Something like Al Capone’s Chicago Syndicate.
Anyways, the match. Well, there’s only this much you can talk about a 1-0 win, where one side barely looked to threaten and were happy to just ride along. Olivier Giroud escaped the attentions of his marker Craig Dawson to head home a corner from Santi Cazorla.
The Spaniard was involved again, but West Brom keeper Ben Foster pulled off an incredible save to deny Cazorla as his shot just evaded the bottom corner. Lukas Podolski almost made it 2-0, but was unlucky as the ball bounced off the underside of the bar into the hands of Foster.
Good preparation for the Cup Final, this!
Jai Arsenal 🙂
